Firewise

 

 

Upon completion of three events during 2010, the Firewise volunteers made it possible to accrue 140 hours valued by Firewise USA at $20.25 per hour.  A total of $2,835.00 in credit exceeds the requirement of $2.00 per capita. This fulfills our annual obligation and we have been notified by Firewise USA that our application for 2011 has been approved. They have written to us as follows: “Congratulations again, on your fifth year of sustained Firewise activity in your community! Your work to become safer from wildfire through the Firewise process is valuable and essential.”

 

Take note that the signs entering and leaving the community have been updated to reflect another year of being a Firewise Community.

 

Drive by the pathway that exits onto East & West Northcastle to see the new park bench. The cost of the bench was shared, Firewise to raise funds and contribution from the Garden Club.

 

Reminder: No dumping debris over fence lines. This is a fire hazard and an invitation to varmints.
