President's Corner
I would like to thank the three retiring directors who did not stand for re-election. Mary Crosley, Larry Napier and Earl Starks each served a two year term on the Board. Heino Erickson resigned after one year due to health reasons. Thank you all for your many contributions to the Board and the community. Please take a minute to say thank you to each of them.
A warm welcome is extended to the newly elected Board members. Doris Denio is serving her first term on the Board as Vice President. Myrtis Brumfield and Paul Martin were re-elected from prior terms as Secretary and President respectively. Jim Stevens after serving an earlier term has returned to the Board as Treasurer.
One of the first challenges facing the new Board is finding a replacement for our clubhouse manager. Stacey McBride has resigned with notice to pursue another career opportunity. She will be assisting with the transition in management at Windsor Hills. Tammy Hench has been appointed interim manager until a permanent manager is hired. Your continued cooperation with the staff during the transition is appreciated.
Board members received a two hour training session from David Reggenbaum, President of AMI, on Director duties and responsibilities. The training took place August 12, 2010 at the Windsor Hills Clubhouse. The meeting was hosted by The Woodlands office of AMI. Directors from all Homeowner Associations managed by The Woodlands office were invited.
The 12 inch water line on the North Side of SH 242 is being moved farther North to accommodate the widening of SH 242 in anticipation of the flyover from I 45. The San Jacinto River Authority is planning to make an award recommendation at its August meeting for the water line move.
The pathway from Gosling Road to College Park High School is now shovel ready. Design is complete; however TXDOT must give right of way approval in certain areas involving SH 242. The pathway is planned for the South side of SH 242. Pedestrian signalization issues at Gosling and SH 242 must also be resolved with TXDOT. Funding for the pathway as with all new parks and pathways in the newer Villages is paid 50% by The Woodlands Land Development Company and 50% by The Woodlands Township.
