News from the MUD District
Windsor Hills has its own unique watering plan as approved by our MUD district. Approval was sought so residents wouldn't be watering right before their lawns were scheduled to be moved. Beginning June 1, you should have the required water schedule programmed into your irrigation system. After that date, WJPA will be monitoring our subdivision, and residents who are not following our plan could be fined by WJPA.
The water schedule is as follows: On the west side of our subdivision lawns may be watered (1) between Wednesday at 8 PM and Thursday at 4 AM, and (2) between Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 4 AM. On the east side of our subdivision, lawns may be watered (1) between Tuesday at 8 PM and Wednesday at 4 AM, and (2) between Friday at 8 PM and Saturday at 4 AM. Hand watering may be done at any time.
Watering may take place anytime between those times. Lawns do not require more than an inch of water per week. A simple way to determine how long your system must run to get an inch of water is to set out empty tuna fish cans in various places in your yard and turn on your sprinkler system. Monitor how long it takes to get an inch of water in the cans. (Of course if you're watering your lawn two times per week that would be one-half inch each time.)
Watering maps are posted and available at the Clubhouse as is a list of residents happy to help you program your system to be in compliance with the regulations.
