Do You Know Your Standards?
Cooler weather has arrived at last, and outdoor projects seem to be the order of the day. Before you being a project, check with the Standards Comittee and/or fill out a Request for Home Improvement Approval. Forms are available at the Clubhouse and online at www.whhoa.com. Staining your new fence, adding an additional gate, installing new shingles on the roof, or adding a wrought iron fence, all require approval. Obtaining approval takes from seven to thirty days, so plan accordingly.
1.2B Changes by Previous Owners - Purchases of a previously-occupied property sometimes are surprised and disturbed when they receive notice that the previous made an unapprovaed alteration or addition, and they are now in violation of the Covenants. Current owners are responsible for any existing violations, regardless of previous ownership.
1.2C Covenants Protect Neighbors - All property owners and tenants are subject to the Covenants and have agreed to comply with them. In turn, they rely on their neighbors' promises that they too will comply. Most prbolems can be resolved and unnecessary complications avoided by a thorough understanding of the Covenants and Standards. Compliance with the Covenants and Standards by all neighbors will permit Woodlands property owners and residents to enjoy living and raising their families in a pleasing environment and an attractive community with sustained propety values.
